I am filled with a strong feeling of happiness today … that’s right, I’m GLEEFUL!!

How cute is that name that Sew Caroline picked for her debut fabric collection for Art Gallery Fabrics?

I love it and think it’s perfectly fitting for these bright, fun and playful patterns + colors.

Caroline sent me a bundle of Gleeful fat quarters to create something to share with all of you.
So.much.pressure when I saw the fabulous line up of bloggers she had for her Gleeful blog hop.

So … I stuck with I know and love, a fun & fast table runner.

Here’s a quick how-to make your own:

  • (4) Fat Quarters / (3) popsicle blocks + (1) border print
  • 6″x6″ scrap / popsicle stick
  • 1/3 YD Kona Cotton (white)
  • 1/2 YD Backing fabric
  • 1/4 YD Binding fabric

Create (5) Popsicle Blocks:

To create popsicle blocks, I used this free paper piecing template which I sized to 6″ x 6″ {original size is 7.5″ x 7.5″}. If you use the original size, you’ll need to adjust your fabric requirements for the white Kona Cotton. Hint: I measured all the “pieces” needed to create the paper-pieced block and pre-cut all of them for quicker piecing. Trim blocks evenly to 5.75″ square.

To the bottom of each block, add an additional 2.75″ x 5.75″ white Kona Cotton block.
Stitch your blocks together alternating the direction of the popsicle

Add an additional 2.75″ x 8″ white Kona Cotton block to each end of the row of popsicle blocks.

Cut border print fat quarter into (6) 2.75″ x 22″ strips. Sew (4) of the strips into pairs.
Beginning with the long sides, sew the border strip to the popsicle strip. Finish with the short sides.

Quilt and bind in your preferred method.

Thank you Caroline for including me on this very happy blog hop!
